About Roscoe, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Roscoe, Illinois is located in Northern Winnebago Count and known for excellent schools, a low crime rate and gorgeous natural parks, Roscoe is the ideal place for business, family and home. Cultural, educational, healthy living and environmental values are central to the missions of the government in the community and this small town is a lovely place to live with seasonal weather, lovely people, rich history and a slow pace. But, it is not far from the larger city of Rockford…
Rockford is the third largest city in the U.S. state of Illinois and the county seat of Winnebago County. Settled between 1834 and 1835, Rockford was placed, by design, between Chicago and Galena and thus became an appropriate area for industrial growth. Rockford was distinguished for its output of heavy equipment and tools and was the second leading center of furniture manufacturing in the nation by the middle of 20th century. Its temporary economic decline, representative of many other cities in the “Rust Belt” led to trade and industry diversification into automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. Rockford is recognized for a variety of venues of artistic, educational, cultural, social and historical significance including:
- Anderson Japanese Gardens (particularly beautiful in the spring when things are in bloom)
- Klehm Arboretum
- Tinker Swiss Cottage
- the BMO Harris Bank Center
- the Coronado Theatre
- the Laurent House
- the Burpee Museum of Natural History
- the Mendelssohn Club
Rockford is probably best known as the Coronado Theatre was once named one of 150 Great Places in Illinois and has hosted various renowned and popular performers. The theatre is known for its fusion of Art Deco with Spanish Baroque Revival architecture. If you are looking for a wonderful leisurely walk then you must think about checking out Belvider. This small town is not small on culture. It is known as the "City of Murals” because, as one might guess, they have many murals in their downtown area and all over the city. The various murals which have been funded and maintained by the town’s historical commission and the town has been essentially collecting its own assortment of striking works of art. The murals give accounts of the town’s life and business in the past, commemorate the area’s culture, focus on the goals of the town and portray the community’s hopes and ideals. They are not just attractive but they are a very important piece of the area’s culture as a constantly evolving public art project.
